BOCA RATON (CBS4) –Donald Trump is getting some love from the Tea Party. And he’s giving them some love right back.

Trump will speak at a Tea Party Tax Rally in Boca Raton Saturday .

Friday night at a Centennial celebration for the Town of Palm Beach at Mar-a-Lago, Trump sounded like a man getting run to run for the highest office in the land — criticizing President Obama’s foreign policy, healthcare plan and questioning the President’s birthplace.

“He’s the worst president in the history of the United States,” Trump said in a ballroom glittering with gold accents and inlays. “He’s been a terrible president. It’s very important that he be replaced.”

Trump even took a swipe at former President George W. Bush.

“If it weren’t for George Bush we wouldn’t have Barack Obama,” Trump said. “(Bush) didn’t have a great presidency especially at the end and because of his actions and because of his aura it was very tough for a Republican to win (in 2008).”

The questions continue to swirl around a possible Trump candidacy as a Republican for 2012. Trump refuses to commit saying he’ll decide by the beginning of June, which leads some to believe he is flirting with the presidency as a way to boost ratings for his show, “Celebrity Apprentice.”

Trump dismissed that, saying he’s so serious about a possible run that he cannot commit to an extension of the show.

“I cannot make a decision yet and that’s a big commitment because you’re talking about a lot of money —  even for a rich person,” Trump told reporters.

Some voters — like Vinny Valentino — say they believe Trump has the business acumen to be president but few other qualifications. Valentino sees Trump’s actions as a publicity stunt.

“Of course it is,” Valentino told CBS 4’s Carey Codd. “You know that and I that. Come on. He’s a great entrepreneur of getting people to follow him.”

At a Tea Party rally in Fort Lauderdale Friday afternoon, Elaine Laffey said Trump would be an ideal candidate.

“He’s already successful,” Laffey said. “He knows how to make money. He knows how to economize. He’s a good businessman and I think that’s what we need in this country.”

Trump said he is honored to speak at the Tea Party rally Saturday.

“The Tea Party represents something very special,” Trump said. “They represent common sense and they represent a kind of toughness.”

But not all Tea Partiers are ready to jump on the Donald’s bandwagon.

“He makes some sense but I really haven’t decided anything yet,” said Brown Hoover.

During his half hour news conference Friday, Trump broke little new ground. He questioned Obama’s policy in Libya, his healthcare plan and the nation’s debt to China.

Specifically, Trump said the U.S. should be paid for its’ intervention in Libya and should take oil from Iraq as payment for the war.

“We are a whipping post for the rest of the world,” Trump said.

Trump leveled heavy criticism at Obama but offered no specific policies or what a Trump Administration would do.

A Trump run for office means he would have to release all his financial information, something he has said in recent days that he would do.

One thing Tea Partiers are concerned about — if Trump runs as an independent he would steal votes from the Republican nominee and that would benefit President Obama.

I believe that Donald Trump is the man we need to get this country back on track. He is straight forward, fair and takes no “guff” from anyone. Obama and his crew should be removed from Washington, and let someone who loves this country and what it stands for to be put in power. No apology for who the USA is…this country has always been looked up to as a great nation, and all this must be restored and rectified, before the “know nothings” do anymore damage to this wonderful outstanding land.God take us in the right direction.

oh plz. another lemming who ffell for this man’s front. I admit, I had liked him at one piont but how can I trust a man who sets up corporations and then run them to the point that they have filed basnkruptcy how many times?-5
Now I do not care how great he seems when it somes to business. The country is NOT a cororation. It does not have the same dynamic. WE are iin the hole we are currently in BECAUSE it was treated like a corporation for 8 years under W. As usual, people suffer from long term memory loss and expect Obama to clean up in 3 years what it took the Republican Congress 1995-2006 =12 years of deregulation etc and 8 years of W . Come on now. Enough. then you put back a Repuke Congress so they can dregulate some more and then blame Obama. Gimme a break
They claim that the government needs to gihten its belt yet the rich are not to contribute more and the shrinking middle class should pony up more. No one stops to think that when the Feds cut money, the states get less. Where do you think they are going to get the extra from? you the tax payer in the form of higher state and county taxes. When you claim you want less spending you are some of the same people who will vent that the firehouse was closed and someone died as a result- remember closed firehouse, death of cyclsit on Rickenbacker Causeway last year. Case in point. You cannot have it both ways.

  4. logan landau says:

how can this man be president?,,
he has a hotel on the beach here in fort lauderdale he hasn’t finished in more than 5 yrs,
no one is in it and its an eyesore ,its just sitting there wasting money and real-estate

down with trump and his space age -bullet proof combover ,,-but i will say one thing for him,,he knows how to make a baby,,,,-his daughter is one of the most beautiful women in the world

  5. Kempite says:

Trump is simply an ass and while he thinks he walks on water, he truly does not understand that politics can brutalize him more than he knows and it will. Trump is only currently polling well because more people know the name DonAld Trump, than they do the names Haley Barbour, Mitch Daniels, Jon Huntsman, Tim Pawlenty oir other names. That in addition to the fact that Trump is a clean slate that people are projecting their hopes on, makes Trump attractive at the moment but by January he will look quite ugly. And on another note, this story callls Trump a real estate magnet. The word is magnate, not magnet

  6. Phil Landers says:

This is the 2nd time he’s pulled this publicity stunt. Fool me once shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me. (Take that G.W. you clown) I’m holding out for Jessie Ventura. I’m not falling into the trappings of Trump’s free advertising.

  7. booboo says:

how can he lead this nation when he has been married more than once and giving his ex wives how many million dollars
how can he stop the bleeding overseas that is where the money is going. Why are we still in Iraq and Afghanistan where we are spending millions of dollars a day.

First thing we need to do is bring the troops home from where do not belong cause we need to spend it in America not in some foreign country where they do not like us

    1. nicky-e says:

him being married 3 times ( so much for thoe republican moral values) is neither here onr there. The crux of the matter is the eyesore on Ft. Lauderdale Beach, everyone of his companies has filed for bankruptcy at least 2 times, that is what people should pay attention to . He is a great pitchman but when it comes to running a company, much less a country, he an go fly a kite

  8. Carol says:

All I want is someone that really loves this country and bring it back where it was before to greatness that is all I and a lot more people want and that is a fact.

  9. LoboTX says:

He doesn’t have my vote yet, but Trump’s a winner, plain and simple. If he’ll run – he wins.
He’ll gradually drop the BC inquiry (unless he finds the evidence Hillary missed) and focus on trade deficits, oil prices, etc. as he did on Hannity and Limbaugh late this week.
Obama’s negatives continue to rise, and he just doesn’t “get it”, nor do his limp-wristed minions. He’s toast unless the GOP gives it to him by nominating another boring, wonky, ‘paid his dues” candidate.
Trump’s hard-hitting, no-nonsense style will attract Reagan Democrats, not just conservatives. He’ll appoint tough SOB’s to his Cabinet and take back America’s rightful place in this world.
Keep talking Mr. Trump – We’re listening.
