48 Hours Of Intense White Hot Heat Begins

MIAMI (CBS4) - The Miami Heat's playoff run doesn't start until Saturday, but that doesn't mean the city isn't alive with White Hot Heat fever. All of the activities lead up to the Heat's first-round playoff game against the Philadelphia 76ers this Saturday.

Thursday morning, a group of Heat fans made their way to the American Airlines Arena to take part in the "48 Hours of Intense White Hot Heat" contest. The contest is simple: the fans sit in seats from Thursday morning until 11:00 a.m. Saturday.

The fans will have to endure rain, wind, and heat and outlast each other in order to win a pair of lower level tickets to all 2011 Heat home playoff games.

"I am here to win these tickets," said contestant Jorge Gonzales. "My strategy is to not pass out."

Jorge won the grand prize in 2004 and participated in the contest in 2009. He said his edge is, "I"m a legacy."

He'll have plenty of competition though.

"I have my everything, my wipes, sunblock; I'm going to study for finals, I'm ready!," said contestant Chloe Castro who participated in 2009.

But, if there's a tie, there will be a tiebreaker trivia contest for the fans left standing after 48 hours of Intense White Hot Heat campaign. The trivia contest will determine the final winner.

The Heat take on the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at the American Airlines Arena.
