Valet Involved In Lebron Mom Smackdown Sues

MIAMI BEACH (CBS4) -- TMZ is reporting that a Miami Beach parking valet has filed a battery suit against the mother of LeBron James who slapped him in front of the Fontainebleau hotel last week.

Gloria James was arrested by Miami Beach police after she was accused of assaulting the valet worker because he was taking too long to have her car delivered.

However, TMZ.com reports the video shows Gloria James may not have made the first move. During the encounter, Gloria walks up to the valet, Rockfeller Sorel, and gets in his face over the parking situation. As Gloria verbally unloads, Rockfeller takes an advancing step towards Gloria and bumps her. Gloria quickly recovers, then slaps him with her left hand, then she swings her purse at him with her right hand. Sorel, TMZ reports, takes several aggressive steps towards Gloria who slips and falls while retreating.

Gloria gets off the ground and tries to go after the valet but several bystanders get in between the two and break it up.

Police said Gloria had a strong odor of alcohol on her breath and her eyes were bloodshot when officers arrived at the hotel about 4:47 a.m. Thursday, April 7th. She was released with a promise to appear on charges of simple battery and disorderly conduct.

Sorel has since quit his job.

The Fontainebleau Miami Beach has released a statement saying it "cannot confirm the authenticity of the video footage for the reason being that the Fontainebleau did not provide and will not distribute its surveillance footage to TMZ or any member of the media."
