America Ferrera Wraps Up "The Good Wife" Stint

LOS ANGELES (CBS4) -- Former "Ugly Betty" star America Ferrera recently returned to television for a three-episode stint on the CBS drama "The Good Wife," playing an undocumented immigrant named Natalie Flores. Tuesday night, Ferrera will wrap up her final appearance.

"The show is very well written, the actors are fabulous, it seemed like a wonderful role to play," said Ferrera.

Although she was first exposed by Eli Gold as an illegal immigrant to disgrace Peter Floricks political opponent, Natalie starts to show everyone that she's both smart and savvy.

"One of the things that was interesting to me about this storyline was about all the preconceptions people have of what an illegal immigrant is going to look like to them and what they expect to see on the other side of that on the paper. And what Eli finds is this smart kind of all-American hard working girl student on the other end is surprising to him. He was excited how her character would challenge these peoples' perceptions of what an illegal immigrant is," explained Ferrera.

This week, Natalie's intelligence leads her to a paid internship at Lockhart Gardner and it doesn't take long for Natalie to impress just about everyone.

"When she comes into the law firm they realize she's very capable and very smart and adds a lot to whatever environment she's in," said Ferrera.

The romantic chemistry between Eli, played by Alan Cumming, and Natalie continues to bubble tonight but where that relationship will go remains to be unseen.

The Good Wife airs Tuesday night at 10:00 p.m. on CBS.
