Another Conviction In Jasper Howard Fight

VERNON, Conn. (CBS4) - One of the two men accused of having a knife in the fight that led to the death of University of Connecticut football player Jasper Howard is expected to plead guilty to assaulting a different person.

Howard, who played his high school football in Miami, was killed during the October 2009 fight on UConn's campus. During the fight, Hakim Muhammad assaulted and wounded former UConn player Brian Parker.

During the fight, Howard was stabbed by 22-year-old John Lomax III. Lomax pleaded no contest to a first-degree manslaughter charge in January and was sentenced to 18 years in prison last month.
