Victim, Suspect Exchange Gunfire In Miami

MIAMI (CBS4) -- An armed robber got more than he bargained for early Monday morning when he tried to rob someone at gunpoint but the victim pulled out his own gun and opened fire.

According to Miami Police Det. William Moreno, the victim was walking in the area of NW 15th Avenue and 36th Street around 3:00 a.m. when the armed suspect walked up to him from behind and demanded his personal items.

The victim turned around with a gun of his own and the two shot at each other.

The victim was shot in the shoulder and transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital where he is expected to make a full recovery.

Police are still looking for the suspect. It's not known if he was injured.
