Train Kills Pedestrian In Pompano Beach

POMPANO BEACH (CBS4) - The Broward County Sheriff's Office is investigating a deadly accident between a pedestrian and a Florida East Coast train Monday night.

BSO spokesperson Dani Moschella says they aren't sure how the person ended up in the path of the train just before 9 p.m. at 600 S. Dixie Highway.

Authorities are not releasing any details of the victim.

The train is stopped south of Copans Road and north of Cypress Creek Road while police investigate.

Drivers traveling east-west in the area will have to find alternate routes over Dixie Highway, as deputies have shut down Atlantic Boulevard.
