Sketch Released Of Man Wanted For Attempted Abduction

MIAMI (CBS4) –Miami police officers hand out flyers to motorists and business owners baring a composite sketch of the man a 16 year old high school girl says tried to abduct her from a bus stop at the corner of LeJuene Road and Northwest 7th street Wednesday morning.

The girl was waiting to catch a bus to go to school.

"This is extremely important probably the only real lead we have right now," said Detective Mike Rojas.

A lead authorities where able to get thanks to the 16 year old who even though trying to get away, police says was able to remember details about the man who she says tried to kidnap her.

"She was very brave, she fought him back and even throughout the fight she was able to recall what he looked like, his height, his weight, his hair, eyes, features and everything," said Detective Rojas.

Investigators say the suspect pulled up to the bus stop in his vehicle and in broad daylight tried to pull the girl into his automobile.  A woman pumping gas at a nearby gas station heard her screams say police and came running.

"She stepped out toward the sidewalk and scream at them, screamed at him to let her go and that's when he actually let her go," says Rojas.

Authorities say the suspect, then got back in his car and drove off.

"He let her go, blew her a kiss and said see you tomorrow, and got into his car laughing and then just drove off," says Rojas.

Police say the suspect was driving a grey colored four-door hatchback.
