The Heat Is On: Miami & Ft. Lauderdale Tied Records Thursday

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBS4) - It was a record hot Thursday across South Florida. Miami and Fort Lauderdale tied their record high temperatures for the day.

CBS4 Chief Meteorologist David Bernard says Miami reached 91 degrees and Fort Lauderdale hit 92.

The last time it was 91 degrees in Miami was September 13th 2010 and for Fort Lauderdale, the last time it was 92 was September 4th!

A cold front will move across the area overnight bringing a round of showers and thunderstorms.

This will mean temperatures returning to the 80's on Friday. Low humidity and sunny skies are ahead for the weekend.
