Heat Season Tickets Gone For Next Season

MIAMI - (CBSMiami.com) - The Miami Heat made it to the playoffs this year, and chances are good they'll play before a packed arena next year, after the team announced it had sold out of season tickets for the coming season.

"I'm really proud to say that our Season Ticket renewal rate was the highest it's ever been in Miami HEAT history," said Eric Woolworth, President of The HEAT Group's Business Operations.

What that means is fans who want to attend next year's games will have to buy individual tickets. If they still want season tickets, they can join a waiting list.

As part of Wednesday's announcement, team officials revealed the new Priority Access Club, where members pay a fee for privileges like the season ticket waiting list, advance playoff ticket purchases, and alerts about ticket availability.

Fans can join the priority club at the Heat's website starting Friday. There is a charge for joining.

Part of the reason the Heat sold out so quickly, according to Woolworth, is that so many current season ticket holders chose to renew.

"As a result of that, only a very limited number of new season tickets were offered for sale and those that were sold immediately to fans," he said.

The Heat is offering three membership levels, starting at $50 for the lowest level of access, and ending at $250 annually for what the team is calling the MVP level.
