Broward To Re-Open Four Parks 7 Days A Week
FT. LAUDERDALE (CBS4) - Four Broward County parks which have been closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for more than a year to save money will now be open seven days a week year round.
The new days of operation for C.B. Smith Park in Pembroke Pines, Brian Piccolo Park-Velodrome in Cooper City, Hollywood North Beach Park and Quiet Waters Park in Deerfield Beach will go into effect next Tuesday.
Broward officials said the decision was made after a new report from a consultant showed that keeping the parks open actually generated more revenue. The report concluded that if the park's fees didn't cover costs, the fees should be adjusted accordingly.
