Arrest Made In Miami Gardens Teen’s Murder

MIAMI GARDENS (CBS4) – Miami Gardens police have made an arrest in the shooting death of a 16-year old boy late last month.

According to police spokesman Captain Ralph Suarez, the shooting happened February 25th in a home in the 35 hundred block of NW 177th Terrace. When officers arrived they found a 16-year old boy bleeding to death on the floor of the living room from a gunshot wound in his back. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue paramedics did all they could to save the teen but his injuries too great and he died on the scene.

Based on information developed during the investigation police took 18-year old D’ Vonte Stewart into custody last Friday. He’s been charged with first degree murder and is being held without bail at the Miami-Dade jail.
