Unknown Man Found Dead In Weston Canal

WESTON (CBS4) – The body of an unknown man was found floating in a Weston canal Sunday.

A golfer at the Weston Hills Golf Club, 2600 Country Club Way, found the body just past 5 p.m.

"They immediately contacted the employees of the Country Club, which in turn called BSO deputies," said BSO spokesperson Keyla Concepcion.

Deputies called out the marine unit, homicide detectives, and crime scene investigators. Divers jumped into the canal and pulled out the man's body. They don't know how long he was in there.

"We really have to wait and look at all the facts. And once we're able to do that, and positively identify who the person in question is, we'll be able to determine what exactly happened or what might have taken place," said Concepcion.
The identity of the man has not been released.

The body has been taken to the Broward County Medical Examiner's office for identification and cause of death.

BSO is investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call Broward County Crimestoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.
