Diaz-Balart Honored By Latino Group
WASHINGTON (CBS4) - U.S. House of Representative Mario Diaz-Balart received the top honor from the National Council of La Raza Thursday for his work on behalf of Latino Americans.
Diaz-Balart, a six-term congressman from South Florida, received his award during a ceremony at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C.
Democratic Representative Barney Frank and Grammy-award winning fusion band Ozomatli were also honored during the ceremony.
Past winners of the award include the late Senator Edward Kennedy and current House of Representatives Speaker John Boehner.
