Broward Teacher Suspended, Faces Termination For Allegedly Sexting Student

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBS4) - A Miramar High School math teacher  has been suspended without pay by the Broward County School Board Tuesday, and recommends his termination for allegedly sexting students last year.

The Broward Count Professional Standards/Special Investigative Unit finished its investigation and determined there was probable cause in the case and recommended the teacher, Kerry Clark, 42, be fired.

Broward Schools spokesperson Nadine Drew said Clarke can request a 1-20 hearing to appeal the decision. If he elects not to, the board will move forward with his termination at an April school board meeting.

According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Clark is in trouble for allegedly texting one female student included statements that he wanted to perform oral sex on her and that she could give him things his wife couldn't.

Clark said the text messages were mistakenly sent to the students, but wouldn't tell who the messages were intended for, according to the Sun-Sentinel.

Clark has been a teacher since 2003. No criminal charges have been filed against Clark.
