Pembroke Pines Fires Called "Suspicious"

PEMBROKE PINES (CBS4) - Pembroke Pines fire investigators are looking in the cause of suspicious two fires within two hours at the same home early Sunday morning.

Firefighters were first called to the home in the 300 block of SW 98th Terrace just before 5 a.m. When they arrived at the single family home in the Garden Lake community, they found what appeared to be a pile of garbage burning in the yard. The fire was quickly put out and there was no property damage.

Two hours later, firefighters were called back to the home to put out a fire on the home's rear patio. Firefighters said they detected the presence of an accelerant on some of items on the patio. The second fire caused an estimated $5,000 in damage.

Anyone with information about the fires is asked to call the Pembroke Pines Fire Department at (954) 438-4357 or Broward Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS.
