LEGOLAND Florida To Hire A Thousand Workers

WINTER HAVEN (CBS4) - Scheduled to open this October, LEGOLAND Florida has put out the word across the state that it will need to hire about a thousand new employees by June to make it happen.

Legoland Florida spokeswoman Jackie Wallace said they've already hired 75 people to be the senior management team. They now need to fill a number of positions to make the park run, everything from admissions and customer service to ride operators and food service. Wallace said pay and benefits at the attraction will be competitive with other area theme parks.

The 150-acre park in Winter Haven used to be the old Cypress Gardens attraction. There are four other LEGOLAND Parks in the world – LEGOLAND Billund in Denmark, LEGOLAND Windsor outside of London, LEGOLAND in Carlsbad, California and LEGOLAND Deutschland near Günzburg, Bavaria Germany. The LEGOLAND theme parks are a part of Merlin Entertainments Group, the second largest attractions operator in the world.

Prospective workers can apply only through the website, www.legoland.com, where the available positions will be posted soon.
