Venetian Pool Reopens To The Public
CORAL GABLES (CBS4) -- One of Miami's most famous swimming pools has reopened to the public, after being closed for a few months for general repairs and maintenance.
The Venetian Pool, located at 2701 DeSoto Boulevard in Coral Gables, will now be open Tuesdays through Sundays, from 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. until April 3rd. Starting April 4th through May 29th, the pool is open Tuesdays through Fridays from 11 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
The Venetian Pool is known for its 820,000 gallons of refreshing spring water which is fed into the pool formed from an old coral-rock quarry. It features two waterfalls and coral caves and it's on the National Register of Historic Places.
In the summer, the pool is drained and refilled nightly, maintaining a warm 77 degrees. Its non-chlorinated water makes this pool a favorite for locals and tourists alike.
Year-round, Coral Gables adult residents pay $6.30 admission; children (3 to 12) $3.95. Non-resident adults are $11.00, children are $7.35. Children under 3 are not admitted.
