Largest Gay Cruise Sets Sail From Ft. Lauderdale

FT. LAUDERDALE (CBS4) - "The World's Largest Gay Cruise" set sail Sunday from Port Everglades.

Tickets for the chartered voyage on Royal Caribbean's Allure of the Seas sold out in three weeks, according to Atlantis Events, the company which organized the cruise.

Nearly 54 hundred gay and lesbian passengers will spend a week at sea with stops in St. Thomas and St. Maarten.

Atlantis Events has also chartered the Allure of the Seas, which is the world's largest passenger ship, for another sailing in 2012.

Both this Sunday's cruise and next years cruise are the first and only charters of the Allure of the Seas. The 2012 cruise will sail from Ft. Lauderdale on January 29, 2012 with stops in Cozumel, Costa Maya, Mexico and Labadee, Haiti.
