Child Hit By Truck In Swap Shop Lot

LAUDERHILL (CBS4) - Quite a scare Sunday for a South Florida mother at the Ft. Lauderdale Swap Shop after her child was hit by a truck.

Lauderhill Fire spokesman Jeff Levy said the accident occurred in the parking lot of the popular flea market located in the 32-hundred block of West Sunrise Boulevard. The year-old child was playing when it tripped and fell into the path of an oncoming truck, which Levy said was only going about 10 mph.  The driver of the truck stopped immediately.

Police spokesman Captain Rick Rocco said the child, who had minor injuries to his arms, was taken to Broward General Medical Center for treatment.

Rocco said no charges will be filed against the driver.
