why was the kid “playing” in traffic? where was the mother?

no judgment or derogatory remark was made against the driver or mother..simply asking a couple of questions to elicit the “details” that were missing.

I think Gregs question has its merit. Its not a judgement it is a question that you have to ask. That flea market doesn’t appear to a place you let a 1 yr old play. I don’t doubt it was an accident. Thank God the little one is ok and hopefully valuable lesson were learned.

You are right and Gary is unbelievably intolerant of any other opinion than his. Nothing “accidently ” happens as Gary states. There is always a cause whether it be negligence or a simple error in judgment. Things do not just happen. So Gary cool it and respect other people’s opinion. :

I’ve been there 100′s of time–I’ve always held my child’s hand or my baby was in a stroller ! The woman should be cited for impersonating a “mother.” see it like it really is folks–don’t quibble over spelling or grammar, teach woman how to be mothers, practice birth control or else spade them !!! Complete carelessness! How could a mother ALLOW her innocent toddler who doesn’t know any better just wonder through a parking lot with out close supervision. That poor kid! NOTHING is more important than the safety and well being of a child, especially a BABY! Notice how the story implies ‘no charges will be filed against the driver’.. why shouldn’t charges be filed against the mother for child endangerment? The mother should have comprehended the fact that there are MOVING VEHICLES entering and exiting parking lots at all times. NICE going MOM!
