Suspect Sought In Four Armed Robberies
WEST HOLLYWOOD (CBS4) – Hollywood Police are on the hunt for criminal who they believe committed four armed robberies in the same night in West Hollywood.
Authorities say the first robbery occurred at 9:01pm on the 5800 block of Johnson Street. The victim was just arriving home when the suspect approached him and demanded money. The victim got into a scuffle with the robber, until the robber pulled out a knife. The victim handed over $100 and the suspect took off running.
Nearly a half an hour later, police say the suspect was walking on the 6100 block of Johnson Street when he cut off the path of another man walking in the street. The victim attempted to go around the suspect, when again the robber pulled a knife and pointed it at the victim. The victim threw a shopping bag at the robber and ran to safety. A passing motorist stopped to help the victim and the suspect took off running.
The third robbery occurred an hour later at the U-Gas Station at 901 N. State Road 7. There, the victim approached the store window to purchase items from the clerk, and stood in line behind a Hispanic male already at the counter. The man turned around and told the victim that he could go ahead of him in line. Once the victim walked up to the window, the suspect approached him from behind, grabbed his arm and told the victim to give him everything he had. When the victim turned around he saw that suspect armed with a knife, but decided to fight his attacker. The victim was left with a cut on his right bicep and finger. The suspect got away with nothing, and fled the area on foot headed toward Johnson Street.
The fourth and final robbery attempt occurred two hours later on the 6200 block of Johnson Street. The suspect was riding westbound on a bicycle when he collided with the victim, also on a bicycle traveling eastbound.
The two men fell to the ground, and the suspect pulled a knife and pressed it toward the victim’s abdomen. The suspect demanded money, which the victim handed over. The suspect then fled the area on his bicycle and was last seen heading eastbound on Buchanan Street.
The suspect in all the attacks is described as a white Hispanic male, approximately 20-25 years of age, weighing about 160 pounds.
