Bad Botox Victim Speaks Out About Deformed Face

BOCA RATON (CBS4) - A Miami woman says her face will never be the same after she went to a woman who illegally injected her with Botox without a medical license.

Boca Raton resident Nora Hidalgo, 56, was arrested Tuesday by Palm Beach County Sheriffs and charged with one count of practicing medicine without a medical license, and one count of illegal possession of legend prescription drugs.

Speaking in Spanish, Martha Gallego told CBS4's Cristina Puig that she had gone to Hidalgo's home for years for permanent makeup application to her eyebrows and felt comfortable letting Hidalgo give her Botox injections.

But after the procedure, Gallego says she complained to Hidalgo that she had a burning sensation and felt hard bumps forming in her face.

According to the report, Gallego face continued to swell up so badly, she was admitted to Jackson Memorial Hospital where she was treated for an severe bacterial infection in her face. She says she has spent more than $4,000 in treatments and medications.

Gallego stated Hidalgo charged her $300 per visit, and had been a patient of Hidalgo and her recently deceased husband for at least 8 or 9 years. It is unclear if her late husband also performed the illegal procedures.

Authorities say Hidalgo misrepresented herself by allegedly stocked the room with medical equipment and lining the walls with fake medical certificates and licenses.

Police believe Hidalgo also administered other facial fillers like Juvederm.

Hidalgo is being held on no bond at Palm Beach County's main detention center.
