Boating Registration And Titles

If you're looking to buy a boat, you're going to need a title and registration for your new waterway warrior.

In the state of Florida, you have 30 days to apply for registration and title through the county tax collector's office. During those 30 days, you must keep a bill of sale with the date purchased on your vessel.

Any boat used on public waterways with any kind of motor must be titled and registered.

Where to Apply for Registration and Titles:

Registration Fees

  • Class A-1 -- All vessels less than 12 feet in length, and motorized canoes $7.25
  • Class A-2 -- 12 feet or more and less than 16 feet in length $14.25
  • Class 1 -- 16 feet or more and less than 26 feet in length $22.25
  • Class 2 -- 26 feet or more and less than 40 feet in length $54.25
  • Class 3 -- 40 feet or more and less than 65 feet in length $86.25
  • Class 4 -- 65 feet or more and less than 110 feet in length $102.25
  • Class 5 -- 110 feet or more in length $126.25

Dealer Classification $20.25
