Boyfriend Abandons Girlfriend After She Was Struck By Car

CORAL GABLES (CBS4) -- Parts of South Dixie Highway were shut Saturday as Coral Gable Police searched for a man who left his girlfriend in the street after she had been hit by a car.

CBS4 News partner The Miami Herald is reporting that the unnamed woman was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to Gables police Spokeswoman Sgt. Janette Frevola.

Frevola said the couple had been arguing while at T.G. I. Friday's, 1200 S. Dixie Highway, and a call to police had gone out. After police responded to the call the two left the restaurant and began walking along South Dixie Highway.

That is when the woman tripped and fell into traffic.

And that is when her boyfriend ran off, according to the driver. The driver also reported that the woman was not pushed, but actually tripped and fell into his path, according to Frevola.
