IKEA Issues Recall For Glass Mugs

MIAMI (CBS4) - If you've got IKEA mugs in your cabinet, you may want to take a close look at them.

The Swedish-based home furnishings company, U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, and Heath Canada issued a voluntary recall of RUND clear glass mugs.

IKEA says the inner walls of the double walled glasses can break during use, posing a laceration threat to consumers.

One consumer has reported a serious laceration needing medical attention; eleven other similar incidents have been reported outside of the U.S.

The participating products carry the name RUND and are the 4cl, 21cl, and 40cl sizes.

A "Hand Made Quality" clear sticker is affixed to the side of the double walled glass. All products were sold in 2 packs.

Consumers should stop using the product immediately and return to any IKEA store for a full refund.
