Naked "King Of The World" Busted In Keys

BIG COPPITT KEY (CBS4) - A tourist who claimed he was "made of steel" let it all hang out in Big Coppitt Key early Sunday morning.

Richard Gervasi, a 43 year-old electronic store owner from Phoenixville, PA., was reportedly under the influence of alcohol and LSD when he ran into traffic on U.S.1 declaring himself as the "king of the world". Around 1:30am, after dispatchers received reports about the nude tourist, Monroe County Sheriff's Office Deputy Danielle Malone arrived at the parking lot of Bobalu's. Upon arrival, Malone was greeted by a nude Gervasi, along with two of his friends.

Gervasi began to go after one of his fellow vacationers, Malone ordered him to stop. When he reportedly ran towards the deputy she pulled her Taser and fired. According to the sheriff's department spokeswoman Deputy Becky Herrin, the tasing didn't stop him, in fact the self-proclaimed 'king' pulled the prongs out of his skin. Gervasi went down after being tased a second time by Malone. When he stood up and began walking towards his friends, Herrin said Malone was tased a third time. He was then handcuffed and taken to the Lower Keys Medical Center for evaluation before ending his night in jail.
