LeBron Named NBA Player Of The Week

MIAMI (CBS4) - The Portland Trailblazers found out just how valuable LeBron James is to the Miami Heat Sunday night. Monday, the NBA recognized LeBron James as the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for January 3-9.

James averaged 33 points, 9.5 rebounds, 6.3 assists, and 2.3 steals per game during four games throughout the week as the Heat swept their four games during the week.

James scored 38 points against Charlotte, 51 over two games against Milwaukee, and hit his season-high with 44 points against the Trailblazers. LeBron currently ranks 3rd in scoring, 13th in assists, 18th in steals, and 28th in rebounding for the season.

The award was the 28th time James has earned the Player of the Week accolades in his career, the most in NBA history. It's also the 29th time a Heat player has earned player of the week honors.
