Phone, Internet Restored To Most In Davie
DAVIE (CBS4) - Making more progress than they had anticipated, the Town of Davie said Monday that approximately 200 AT&T customers remained without phone or DSL services.
On Friday, construction crews working on I-595 accidentally cut two AT&T cables knocking out phone lines and computer service to more than 3,800 customers in Pine Island Ridge and the Park City West neighborhoods.
The area impacted ran from Pine Island Road to Park City West and from I-595 to Nova Drive.
At the time town spokesman Braulio Rosa said repairs could take up to seven days. To ensure the safety of their residents in case of an emergency, the Davie Police Department stationed an officer at the Pine Island Ridge Country Club and another officer at the Park City West Community Center over the weekend.
Rosa anticipates that the repairs should be finished sometime Tuesday morning as at&t crews work around the clock to restore service.
