Muschamp Fills Out UF Staff

GAINESVILLE (CBS4) - On the same day he hired perhaps the best offensive mind in the NFL, new Florida Gators head coach Will Muschamp announced he has hired Seattle Seahawks defensive line coach Dan Quinn to be the new defensive coordinator for the Gators.

Quinn has a strong resume dating back to the 2005 season when he and Muschamp were both on Nick Saban's staff with the Miami Dolphins.

Quinn's current team, the Seattle Seahawks, is headed to the playoffs with the worst record ever for a playoff bound NFL team. He worked miracles with a defensive line that had zero star power. He moved 320-plus pound tackle Red Bryant to defensive end before he was injured to end the season.

Quinn last coached college football at Hofstra where he coached the defensive line until 2000.

Muschamp also announced the hirings of Aubrey Hill as receivers coach, Travaris Robinson as defensive backs coachs, and the new UF coach retained coaches D.J. Durkin, Brian White, and Stan Drayton from Urban Meyer's staff.
