FBI Closes Cruise Ship Death Investigation

MIAMI- (CBS4) - Two years after a woman died by jumping off a Norwegian Cruise Ship, the FBI ended its investigation into her death.

On Tuesday, the agency said it could not prove a crime had been committed.

Jennifer Ellis-Seitz, 36, of Winter Haven, took the weeklong cruise with her husband Raymond Seitz. The couple were celebrating their first anniversary.

Family members said she likely chose to end her life on Christmas night on 2008 falling from a balcony of the Norwegian Pearl, while the ship sailed through Mexico.

Her husband was the first to report her disappearance and an intense search followed, but turned up nothing.
