BSO: Woman Barricaded In Home Shot By Deputies

OAKLAND PARK (CBS4) - A woman who barricaded herself inside an Oakland Park home was shot by Broward Sheriff's Office deputies late Thursday night.

Authorities responded to the home on the 400 block of Northeast 61st Court after receiving reports of an armed person threatening suicide.

BSO spokesperson Dani Moschella says when deputies got to the home, they heard shots fired coming from inside the residence.

An hours-long standoff began because the woman refused to leave the house. When she finally did, Moschella says the woman pointed a gun at officers.

The officers then followed protocol and shot the woman.

She was transported to a nearby hospital where her condition is unknown.
