PEMBROKE PINES (CBS4) – A Pembroke Pines fire engine found itself in quite the predicament when it lodged it’s front tires in a sinkhole.

City officials said a water main break caused the sinkhole in the 7200 block of Pines Boulevard just before 5 p.m. Thursday.

The truck, which is accustomed to rescuing others, was in need of a tow. The stretch of roadway was closed off to traffic while crews worked to cap the leak and free the firetruck.

No injuries were reported.

What’s going on with the water mains on Pembroke Pines Blvd. This is the second one in two days. I hope the brains of the operation with the water mains in Pines is having them checked because there is an obvious problem.

I am sure the inspectors turned their backs on the work when it was installed.
