Heat Go Streaking

MIAMI (CBS4) - It was just a few weeks ago that Miami Heat fans and the media covering the Heat were all but convinced that head coach Erik Spoelstra was out the door and the Heat's Big 3 could be on the verge of failure.

What a difference a few weeks makes.

The Heat (18-8) have ripped off 9 straight wins and are two games ahead of Orlando in the Southeast Division. The Celtics (19-4) are the only team to have more victories than the Heat in the Eastern Conference.

So what has spurred the Heat renaissance? It's basically been Dwyane Wade and LeBron James increasing their defensive pressure and crashing the boards for defensive rebounds. That, and the big three of Wade, James, and Bosh have scored more than 75 points in the last few games.

The Heat are 9-1 in their last ten games and have only lost one division game this season.

The Big 3 and the Heat take on the Cleveland Cavaliers Wednesday night as LeBron looks to duplicate his 40+ point performance against his old team.

Unlike the first game in Cleveland, there won't be a need for extra security when the game tips off in Miami; and the Cavs will get a much more respectful reaction from the crowd than Cleveland gave the Heat.
