Christmas Display Lights Up The Night
TAMARAC (CBS4) – For the past ten years, the Thompson’s of Tamarac have delighted neighbors near and far with the winter wonderland they’ve “engineered” outside their home.
“A lot of people say it reminds them of a Little Disney,” Delroy Thompson explained to CBS4’s Nicole Maristany. “It’s not one of those regular displays that you stay in your car and you look and see lights. You actually come by and see the functions and see the display and the rides moving and see the miniatures moving as well.”
It’s an event the entire neighborhood looks forward to all year long. Delroy’s wife Berwin said they are asked about their display as early as September.
“This year we put up a countdown clock, and don’t worry they’re counting down with us!” Berwin exclaimed.
For the second year in a row, the Thompson’s teamed up with Neighbors 4 Neighbors, encouraging visitors to make a donation for the holidays.
“Last year we made a sizeable contribution that we are proud of; so we’ll do it again this year and let them know it’s something worthwhile contributing to,” Berwin said.
“It’s a great pleasure towards making it towards, Neighbors 4 Neighbors,” her husband Delroy added.
In addition to making a difference for local families through Neighbors 4 Neighbors, the Thompsons pass out sweet treats for the for the young and the young at heart that stop by – so there’s lots of incentive to visiting this dazzling display!
