No One Hurt In Attempted Brinks Truck Robbery

HOLLYWOOD (CBS4) - Gunshots filled the air early Tuesday morning in front of a Hollywood bank as two men reportedly tried to rob a Brinks truck at a Bank of America.

Hollywood police spokesman Lt. Manny Marino said they received a call just after 7 a.m. that there was an attempted armed robbery of two Brinks guards in front of a Bank of America branch at 1900 Tyler Street.

The armed robbers exchanged gunfire with one of the armored truck guards and witnesses said they heard at least five shots.

"I was sitting in the living room watching the news when I heard five shots," said David Millhorn. "Then a minute later, you heard one last shot and then it went quiet."

"I live two blocks away from here," said Jacob Mizrav. "I heard like five or six shots. I even smelled the gunpowder."

No one was injured during the Tuesday morning robbery. The two suspects took off in what police described as a newer model, silver Toyota Camry. And according to Lt. Marino, it appears the robbers left without any money.
